Mini Hawaiian Store located inside the Yuma Indoor Market

Today's post is going to be about our little kiosk space in Yuma AZ. People that are familiar with Wave Shoppe Hawaiian Shirts knows that we are always working on ways to better serve web customers, as well as local residents.

Our kiosk is a mini Hawaiian store located inside the Yuma Indoor Market. Our store carries our most popular items such as mens Hawaiian shirts , Hawaiian muumuu dresses and quite a few essential accessories.

Its full a full service Hawaiian store that has racks full of shirts and we accept all major credit cards as well as the old standby, cash.

The kiosk is only open during the winter months, but we have been slowly attracting a following of locals. We hope to reach out even more as we get to know more people here and have opportunities to meet some of the local hula groups.

We just added tribal lava lava clothing in 3 colorways that should be popular with the locals that live here, especially so in this hot desert climate.

We are inside the air conditioned marketplace and located next to American Pride clothing store, whom offers really cool military themed t-shirts and accessories. The store is owned and operated by a lady named Brenda. Brenda is cool to be around and she even volunteers to watch our kiosk when we cant be around.

I would link to her website but she does not have one, I guess she is just a few months old and still in startup mode. But if your in the area stop by and check out her offerings.

The shirts make you feel happy when you wear them.

If you ask me summer can not get here quick enough. between the months of December and March we spend a lot of our time making Hawaiian shirts for our company website that has all of the Hawaiian shirts and clothing in our inventory, as well as stock for our Amazon Store and lastly, our display kiosk in Yuma Arizona.

This is the time of year that customers start stocking up on Aloha, the weather is improving in many states and people are thinking luaus. Admittedly the clothing is brightly colored and not for everyone. But for our customers that do wear Hawaiian clothing, they say the bright colors and designs simply make them feel happier.

Quite often we have people buying their first Aloha shirt. Ladies will often pick something safe like the womens Hawaiian shirt with parrots

We also offer a nice selection of Hawaiian muumuu dresses which are gaining in popularity.

Well its back to work (folding shirts) so have a great day and mahalo for visiting!

Oh I almost forgot! All of our clothing is made right here in the USA

The Chilly Hawaiian

Brr, its a chilly morning here, we're not all that used to cool weather. I was looking over the Wave Shoppe Hawaiian shirts webstore and came across a nice Hawaiian shirt that woudl be great for the holiday.

Its a mans Hawaiian shirt that has white orchid flowers and red hibiscus flowers, along with some palm leaf. The "Hawaiian Gardens Hawaiian shirt" certainly has lots of pop and initially looks a tad loud, but people like loud shirts.

Its the authors personal opinion, but if your going to be hanging out by Christmas decorations you want your clothing to stand out. In general its expected that colorful items will dominate the landscape, this mens shirt does the job quite well, we know its partially because of the black cotton that the design is printed on.

But different strokes, for different folks they say, if your wanting something less visible then have look at all of the Hawaiian shirts offered for a man in Wave Shoppe's mens clothing department.

There is also a few tropical accessories that look good with that style of mens clothing, as well as items for the ladies such as footwear, dresses and Aloha shirts, lots of Aloha shirts.

Men Wear Red for Christmas

Like it of not, the Christmas holiday is just around the corner. People have already started their Christmas shopping (gasp), and before Halloween and Thanksgiving I must add. People are already dusting off that ugly Christmas sweater, as well as purchasing tropical Hawaiian shirts for the occasion, not to be misconstrued with purchasing Aloha for gifts.

At Wave Shoppe, what the guys are going to wear is pretty clear, they will be decked out in red Aloha shirts

First on everyone's list is a red Hawaiian shirt featuring cereus flowers, which bloom at night and usually only on select lava rock, is off to a good start.

Yes, people buy other prints, but sales numbers indicate that red is by far the predominant color for this time of the year.

Once the remaining sizes for the cereus flower shirt make their way out of sewing, the cereus flower shirt may eventually topple the current reining king of red Hawaiian shirts, (drum roll please) the red Hawaiian shirt with orchid flowers!

But if red is not your thing you can still find some alternative colors on our website that will also look good for the holidays.

If your doing a tiki themed Christmas or Thanksgiving, have a look at our newly added tropical accessories category, we offer some really cool looking, as well as useful household items.

So now you have the inside scoop on Hawaiian fashion in Hawaii and on the mainland. Keep an eye on the mens section, in January we have some exciting new products that we think you will like a lot.

Sunsetting Summer with Aloha

Its hard to believe that Summer is pretty much over in many parts of the country. But that's not the case in some states such as Arizona, California, Nevada, Florida, Texas, Hawaii etc. just to name a few. We are lucky to live in one of those states, I live its pretty much summertime weather year round, we can wear Hawaiian shirts whenever we want to. P.S. if you have not caught on yet, we like the Wave Shoppe brand.

Don't despair, there is good news. The good news is that we have these things called vacations, which are usually taken in warmer, more tropical locations, such as Hawaii or Fiji. Whether you fly or cruise or drive, somewhere on the planet there is a place to wear Hawaiian clothing.

While its on my mind... the guys still need to make sure they wear their shirts correctly, here is a article on how to wear a Hawaiian shirt, follow some of our suggestions and you will avoid having people wondering who dresses you.

As far as threads go for the ladies, you can wear whatever you like. If your going tropical you can elect to wear a dress or even a womens Hawaiian shirt, the choice is yours. So as we say Aloha to Summer we must do so with our heads held high, its always warm somewhere and Summer will return before you know it.

Hues of Orange Clothing

Orange colors stir-up more controversy than any other color. Hues of orange are often associated with Halloween and fall and the changing of the seasons. But in many cultures orange is considered to be a "joyous color", representing the aspect of happiness, which lifts ones spirits and stimulates both the man wearing it, as well as the casual observer.

Orange is a extremely vibrant color that demands attention. It's associated with oranges, joy, sunshine, and the Hawaiian tropics, and represents intense and eager enjoyment, fascination, joy, creativity and determination. Garments such as orange Hawaiian shirts are a good example of combining all of those aspects into a wearable garment. Colors such as black, delft blue, cream or ivory, and denims match up well with orange.

It's interesting that Halloween is associated with the color orange because outside of carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, the color really doesn't have much of a connection with the yearly celebration. We had mentioned that orange is symbolic of the tropics, but what we should have added is that comparison if further re-enforced when something like a shirt is teamed with foliage and a flock of parrots.

Labor Day Clothing Recommendation

Labor Day 2014 is Monday, September 1st and while its the largest BBQ holiday on the planet, its also a good time to bust out your favorite Hawaiian shirt.

I don't want to get into writing about whether or not to wear white after Labor Day, because white is in a lot of the designs people wear year round.

So I think I will just skip all of that and jump right into what I am wearing for Labor Day. And without further ado I am going to wear a Tapa Hawaiian shirt with khaki shorts and my trademark flip flops.

I chose this color combination for a few reasons, the first one being that I simply love brown!

The second reason is that the pattern in this particular shirt exemplifies the spirit of Polynesia and Tonga.

This shirts design contains an authentic tapa design with traditional Tongan geometric patterns, Tongan warriors, canoe paddles, and of course sea turtles, you have to have sea turtles! If you don't know by now I own Wave Shoppe Hawaiian Shirts in San Diego, and we have one of the largest inventories of Hawaiian shirts in the county.

Now if brown is not your thing, we offer a lot of other cool looking mens Hawaiian shirts online and if you are one that needs to try on your clothes before purchasing, you can hop into your car and head to our showroom, where you can purchase the very same shirts we offer online. We also offer some items in our downtown clothing store that you wont find on the online store such as hula dashboard dolls, leis, tiki mugs and more.
